PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT DIVISION

In accordance with the Metrology Act (Official Gazette of RS, no. 26/05 of 15 March 2005) the Physical Measurement Division performs tasks in the field of assurance of measurement traceability and conformity assessment of measurement instruments.

 

Activities of the Physical Measurements Division are as follows:

  • Act as the national metrology laboratory in the field of physical quantity mass;
  • Act as the national metrology laboratory in the field of physical quantity volume;
  • Conformity assessment of legal metrology instruments, calibration and testing of measuring instruments, testing and validation of software in the measuring instruments;
  • Management and surveillance of the work of entities authorised to performing verifications of measuring instruments;
  • Participation in drafting of regulation from the scope of the division's activities;
  • Supporting  the activitites of metrological supervision;
  • Participation in the transfer of knowledge on national and international level;
  • Development of new fields of physical measurements;
  • Development and maintainance of metrological information database MIRS-info;
  • Design and maintenance of computer equipment, information systems, databases and supporting the users.
