After the adoption of the Act, the Republic of Slovenia Business Excellence Prize Board was appointed by the Slovenian Government. The Board consists of nine members and represents the highest level of decision-making in the award process, and the Prize is granted by the Board. Each year an Assessor Commission is appointed by the Board. The Commission consists of assessors, senior assessors and jurors. The assessors and senior assessors are responsible for assessing the application documents, and they are appointed upon the proposal of the jurors. The jurors are responsible for the assessing process, voting, and making proposals as to the award winners, which they present to the Board. The whole award process is managed by the Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (MIRS) 1 which is a body within the Ministry of Higheer Education, Science and Technology. Pursuant to the above-mentioned Act, the Institute is responsible to manage the technical and administrative work for the Board. The basic responsibility of the Metrology Institute is establishing the scientific and technical quality infrastructure through four crucial fields of activity, i.e. scientific metrology, legal metrology, precious metals, and the Slovenian Business Excellence Prize.
