Activities:

Scientific metrology:

- The National Standard of Thermodynamic Temperature

Industrial metrology:

- Calibration of contact and non-contact thermometers

- Calibration of humidity sensors

In its role of a calibration laboratory, the Laboratory of Metrology and Quality calibrates contact and non-contact thermometers and sensors of relative humidity and makes evaluations of calibration baths and furnaces, blackbody radiators and climatic chambers. One of the Laboratory's important activities is also its capability of performing on-site calibrations, being one of the few laboratories in Europe to hold accreditation for this.

Testing:

- The Laboratory also performs tests of safety for household and similar electrical appliances.

Educational activity:

- Important educational role at the under- and post-graduate levels

- The Laboratory also organises seminars and workshops for the industry
