INVITATION to World Metrology Day 2015


During the celebration of World Metrology Day,
when we celebrate the signing of the Metre Convention in 1875 in Paris,


you are welcome
to join us on the World Metrology Day 2015

on Wednesday, 20th May 2015, at 10 am,
in the hall of the Marine Biology Station, National Institute of Biology in Piran.

This year, World Metrology Day celebration is organized by Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia in collaboration with the National Institute of Biology under the title
"Measurement and light."


The program (from 10:00 to 12:00):

1. Welcome speech from Dr. Samo Kopač , Director of Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, MSc. Franc Potočnik, Assistant director of the National Institute of Biology, and a representative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology
2. Prof. dr. Helen Parkes, Head of the Working Group on bioanalysis in CCQM, BIPM, "Illuminating Biomeasurements"
3. Prof. dr. Jana Žel, National Institute of Biology, "NIB-Countless challenges bioassay"
4. Mr. Andrej Mohar, Euromix Ltd., Dark Sky Slovenia Society, "Measurement of light pollution"
5. odelo Slovenija d.o.o., "Light inspired by emotions - the importance of measurement in the production of automobile lights"
6. M.Sc. Roman Flegar, MIRS, "Electromagnetic waves, a key element in measuring the speed in road trafic."
