First marking of articles of precious metals with the Common Control Mark (CCM)

First marking of articles of precious metals with the Common Control Mark (CCM)

On 22 October 2009, articles of precious metals of Slovenian suppliers were marked for the first time with the marking of the Convention on the Control and Marking of Articles of Precious Metals CCM (Common Control Mark) at the premises of the Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia in Celje.

On 5 March 2009 Slovenia became the 19th full member of the Convention of Control and Marking of Articles of Precious Metals (www.halmarkingconvention.org/).  This means that, following the performance of control and marking of articles with the national seal, the Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia is allowed to mark articles at a customer's request also with the Convention's common control mark (CCM). In the area of  attestation of conformity of articles of precious metals, the CCM mark is the highest guarantee for the adequate quality of an article.  The possibility of marking articles with the CCM mark is an award for the national system of attestation of quality of articles and, at the same time, also a prestigious award to Slovenian suppliers for attestation of the quality of their articles made of precious metals.
