Minister Irma Pavlinič Krebs appointed chairwoman of the Committee of the Republic of Slovenia’s Award for Business Excellence  (PRSPO)

 

On 8 July 2009, a meeting of the members of the Committee of the Republic of Slovenia's Award for Business Excellence (PRSPO) took place at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.  The members of the Committee are: Gregor Golobič, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Dr Matej Lahovnik, Minister of the Economy, Irma Pavlinič Krebs, Minister of Public Administration, Štefan Pavlinjek, Chairman of the Management Board of the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of the Republic of Slovenia, Vladimir Tkalec, Confederation of Public Sector Trade Unions, Ariana Grobelnik, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tatjana Fink, Trimo d..d., Milan Bavec, Bavcom d.o.o., Igor Horvat, Jesenice General Hospital, and Damjan Vrečko, Celje Administrative Unit.
 
At today’s session Minister Irma Pavlinič Krebs was elected Chair of the Committee, while Tatjana Fink was appointed its Deputy Chair. 
 
At the session, members of the Committee for opening of tenders received in response to public invitation concerning the PRSPO National Award were also appointed.  The invitation to tender was published on 5 June 2009 in Uradni list RS [Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia] and has also been published on the website of the Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia.  The deadline for submission of bids is 30 September 2009.
 
During the session, the members of the PRSPO Committee were also acquainted with the report on the work of the PRSPO Committee in 2008, as well as with the PRSPO Strategy proposal.
The objective of the Republic of Slovenia's award for business excellence is to increase Slovenia's competitiveness through the promotion and introduction of the European model of excellence in the private and public sectors.  The body responsible for the PRSPO Programme is the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, while administrative and technical procedures are carried out by the Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia.  The Programme sets guidelines and criteria that can be used by business organisations in the evaluation of their efforts for quality improvement.
