An empirical study on comparing total quality management (TQM) items of national quality award applicants in Slovenia

"Hereby we would like to inform you about two important (SCI) articles written by Dr. Karmen Kern Pipan et al. published in international journals for management studies presenting findings on positive effects related to use of EFQM excellence model in the Slovenian companies. The papers are based on the findings of empirical study conducted in 110 Slovenian companies supported by Metrology Institute of Republic Slovenia. Using statistical methods the authors examined the effect of the EFQM Excellence Model on the use of total quality management (TQM) tools and approaches, as well as financial results to motivate TQM implementation. Within the whole group of companies, special attention was paid to the results of applicants for the Slovenian Business Excellence Prize (SBEP), which were compared with other companies. The SBEP group showed better results compared with the other companies with regards to benchmarking, peer assessment, participation in quality and excellence awards, knowledge sharing, self-assessments and also financial results.
